The MISA Synergy Science Exhibition has become a prestigious platform for students to display their knowledge in their chosen topic. This year, our students chose ‘The role of technology in healthcare and the increase in disease awareness and diagnosis’.

For starters, they went to Orbit Eye Hospital and learned all about eye care from Dr. Furniturewala and his able team. They witnessed a live cataract surgery* and also carried out fundus photography with the help of the team.

Another project was the disposal patch that monitored the heart rate and kept your doctor abreast of any irregularities via an app.

Then followed hours of discussion and research of their new-found knowledge. Armed with all the information, they devised their charts and scripts. It covered all their important points, especially about how technology has now become mobile and can aid patients anywhere in the world. They even crafted their models to demonstrate what they learned.

To be able to represent your school and come back all smiles because folks say it is in-depth research is all the affirmation we can ask for. Well done, students. You make our hearts swell with pride. (God knows, so many of us would be challenged to stay vertical while watching that eye surgery.???)

*All due parental permissions were taken and students were prepared adequately with the assurance of being taken out of the OT in case of discomfort. Our students, however, had stomachs of steel. ??
