As we start the new academic year, we believe it is necessary to remind students and parents/guardians of our school rules. Rules, regulations and policies are in place to ensure that every child is safe, provided with the best opportunity to succeed and that the standards we set for our students are met. However, we would like to use this opportunity to focus your attention on key school rules for us to have a smooth year ahead.

  • The school day begins at 8:00am and ends at 3:00pm on weekdays
  • Students have to report by 7:50am
  • Students arriving to school any time between 8:00am to 8:10am will be given a late remark in the school diary. Students reporting to school late more than two times in a month will be sent back home.
  • Arriving late to School after 8.10am is not permissible; the student will be sent back home.

  • Students have to submit a leave application for approval at least two days prior to the commencement of the leave.
  • Leaving school during school hours is not permitted except if there is a medical emergency or an unforeseen situation communicated to the school by the parent.
  • Students will be permitted a half day only for passport work. Aadhar card documentation work or a doctor’s appointment.
  • Applications to take the student for medical check-up, for family function without prior communication etc. during school hours will not be entertained.
  • Taking leave indiscriminately is not permissible. Leave applications or notes to be recorded in the school diary for a day or two.
  • Students remaining absent for more than two days due to illness have to bring a medical certificate along with them on the day of reporting.
  • Medical leave application should contain a medical certificate and a fitness certificate.
  • Leave during school functions or events (culminating activities, Concert, Sports Day) will strictly not be permitted.

  • Students should report to school in complete school uniform along the school id card.
  • Regular school uniform on Non-SPA days and SPA uniform on SPA days (Tuesdays and Fridays).
  • Students are permitted to wear only black Nike school shoes and school socks will be permitted.
  • Footwear during monsoons – plain black crocs (no embellishments on the crocs are permitted) or plain black floaters.
  • Girls are permitted to wear black hair accessories i.e. hair bands or clips.
  • Boys are not permitted stylish or fancy haircuts.
  • During winter season, students have to wear school jackets only.

  • Students will select two activities round the year. (1 indoor and 1 outdoor)
  • Grade IX students will opt for only one outdoor activity.
  • Change in SPA activity will be not be entertained once the SPA form for the academic year has been submitted.
  • SPA activities will be allotted to students on the basis of first come first serve basis.

Academic Year
  • The academic year is divided into 2 terms i.e. Term I and Term II
  • Each term comprises of two volumes.
  • Term I - Volume 1 and Volume 2
  • Term II – Volume 3 and Volume 4
Evaluation
    • Reviews are conducted to evaluate the performance of students every 3 weeks.
    • Two Formative and Two Summative evaluations are conducted for the students in each volume.
    • At the end of every volume a report card is prepared showing progress of the student.
    • Grade 4 students are given the option to select between the subjects Marathi and French.
    • No set timetable is applicable for primary grades for conduction reviews.
    • In volume 1 and 3 Unit Tests are conducted for the students.
    • In volume 2 and 4 Term Exams are conducted.
    • At the end of volume 2, Term I exam is conducted.
    • At the end of volume 4, Term II exam is conducted.
    • Graded assessments are conducted in each volume for all the subjects to understand the progress of the students.
Classwork and Homework
    • Enrichment Worksheets known as EW have to be completed as per the instructions given by the teachers. Enrichment worksheets are given to students of grades 1 and 2.
    • Home Extensions known as HE have to be completed at home as per teacher’s instructions. Home Extension booklets are given to students of grades 3 and 4.
    • Class workbooks known as CW are carried home on the days assigned to each grade. The assigned days will be informed by the class teacher through school diary.
    • Notebooks, class worksheets, enrichment worksheets and home extension booklets will be sent home as and when needed.
    • Home work for primary students is assigned on Friday and has to be submitted on a Wednesday.
    • Home Extensions known as HE have to be completed at home as per teacher’s instructions.
    • Class workbooks known as CW are carried home on the days assigned by the teachers. On other days it is kept in the student’s class locker.
    • Notebooks, class worksheets and home extension booklets will be sent home as and when needed.
    • Students if not completing their work as per the instructions given by the teachers will be detained (after school hours).
    • Graded assessments are conducted in each volume for all the subjects to understand the progress of the students.
Points to Remember
  • If note book work is not completed by the student in school, parents can come to School on 1st or 3rd Saturdays or after 3.15pm on other days to take help from teachers and help their ward complete the work.
  • For photocopying missed work or absent work, parents can come to school on weekdays between 12:00pm to 1:00pm
  • Parents will be permitted to make photocopies of the missed work if the student has been absent for more than 2 days due to illness. Parents have to seek help from the coordinator for the same.

    • Indiscipline, use of improper language, bullying and violence in the bus will be strictly dealt with.
    • Classroom assignments have to be completed by students during the subject period held in school during school hours.
    • Buses will halt at the assigned stop only for 2 minutes.

    • Students not boarding the bus on time will be kept back in school and the parents will have to make arrangements to pick them up from School.
    • Boarding the bus on time at the respective bus stops should be ensured.

    • Students celebrating birthdays in school are permitted to wear coloured civil clothes on the day of their birthday.
    • Cakes or cookies can be brought to school for distribution. (the cakes have to be eggless, without icing, frosting or cream)

    • There will be 5 Parent Teacher Meetings in a year. The first one being the introductory Parent teacher meet and following four meeting will be for the four volumes conducted in an academic year.
    • It is mandatory for the Parents to attend these PTMs as per the schedule given. Parents will not be given alternate dates for the meeting as the dates are shared at the beginning of the academic year.
    • Sports Day and Annual day are the two major events of the School.

      All students should compulsorily take part in one program in the Annual Concert i.e. either in dramatics or dance performances. Auditions are held by the Speech and Drama team for the Annual Concert.One race and Mass Drill is compulsory for all students during Sports Day. Parents should cooperate with the school in ensuring participation.

    • Culminating activities connected with the curriculum are conducted during the academic year. Parents are invited to attend the same.
    • Assemblies in the Primary School will be held every month. This information will be published on the Events Calendar which is shared with parents every month.
    • Each class takes a turn to organise and present an assembly during the year and grade levels work together for special assemblies. Our assemblies may also be used to celebrate special cultural events.
    • Field trips and guest lecturer visits are held during the academic year. The school communicates the details of the same to the parents prior to the date of visit.
    • Students Grade 3 onwards will have the opportunity to participate in overnight field trips.
    • Grade 3 students are taken for a 2 day educational trip within the state.
    • Grade 4 onwards students will be taken for a domestic educational trip.
    • An orientation is held in school for the parents to have a better understanding of the educational excursion

All Field Trips will begin and end at the school. We request that parents arrange to have their children at school to begin the Field Trip / Educational Excursion and the Field Trip will not officially end until all students have returned with their teacher to the school. Parents have arrange to pick up their children picked up from the school at the end of the Field Trip / Educational Excursion.For Domestic trips, airport details of the drop off and pick up will be given to the parents.

  • The school has 3 meal breaks in the day; morning break, lunch and fruit break.
  • A morning snack, lunch for their child and a snack for the fruit break.
  • Students are permitted to carry meals from home.
  • Incase students are availing the school cafeteria facilities, they will be provided with a morning meal and lunch.
  • Students availing cafeteria services will be served meals in the school cafeteria.
  • Students carrying their morning meal / snack and lunch from home will be seated in class.
  • All students have to carry a fruit or dry fruits from home for the fruit break. The fruit is takes place at the end of the school day.

We have one full‐time registered nurse working at the infirmary / sick bay area of BHIS, Andheri.

  • Students may visit the Health Department at any time of the day if they feel unwell but they must inform their class teacher before visiting, unless it is an emergency situation.
  • It is essential that health records be completed prior to the student entering the school. Any relevant medical information, addresses, telephone numbers, immunisation or other information must be brought to the notice of the school.
  • If medication must be given during school hours it must be labelled with the student’s name, a current medication form stating the dose, the time it is to be given and parent’s signature.
  • The medication will be kept in the sick bay with the nurse. The nurse will assist in giving the student the medication.
  • Please note students are not permitted to carry their own medication in school or during school trips. If they are carrying medication, parents have to inform the class teacher about the same.

Fees
  • Students are not permitted to carry cash to School except for a small amount for commutation purposes.
  • Sending cheques for fees and other reasons through students is not encouraged by the school and has to be paid directly at the school accounts office.
  • Cafeteria fees have to be paid for each term.
  • For creating convenience for parents to make payment of fees in easy monthly instalments, the school has tied up with Gray Quest. Parents need to fill in their online application at www.grayquest.com/signup if they would like to avail this facility.
  • Parents can pay their ward’s tuition fee and term fee in -
    • 6 instalments at No Extra Cost
    • 8 instalments at a one-time nominal charge of 1.75% annually
    • 10 instalments at a one-time nominal charge of 2.75% annually
  • Please note the timings for visiting the Accounts office Days--- Tuesday to Saturday (Except 2nd and 4th Saturday) Timings-- 09:00 am to 11:00 am

    1st Quarter 22nd February to 11th March
    2nd Quarter 15th June to 30th June
    3rd Quarter 15th September to 30th September
    4th Quarter 15th December to 31st December
  • The 2nd to 4th quarter PDC’s have to be compulsorily deposited at the Accounts office when paying the 1st quarter fee even if the fee is being deposited online
  • A late fee of Rs.1000/- per week will be charged if the payment is made after the due date.

  • A copy of any complaint/request/suggestion should be sent to the Principal to ensure speedy action on the matter.
  • Parents are requested to send emails specifying the nature of the problem on the same day without wasting time to the Principal and the concerned coordinators to enable the School take speedy action. Such correspondence will be essential as the problems would get sorted out on time and enable healthy progress of the student.
  • Please be assured that all correspondences will be dealt with in strict confidence and no victimization of any student will take place.
  • The medication will be kept in the sick bay with the nurse. The nurse will assist in giving the student the medication.
