1. STEAM education, our curriculum in Robotics and Engineering, is an educational approach that combines science, technology, engineering, art, and math to enable students to take calculated risks by engaging them in experiential learning.
2. Under STEAM, we craft practices that create an environment where students not only learn these subjects individually but also understand and engineer solutions to problems based on their observations of real-world phenomena.
3. STEAM teaches students to apply the learnings and methodologies of one topic unto others (integrated approach) to not only get better results but also develop a creative strategy in all that they do.
4. Our annual tech fest is one such event that features our students who put up working models of simple and complex machines to domestic and industrial automation. It is a one-of-its-kind event that showcases the simplified mechanisation of everyday life.
Music is an integral part of the curriculum at Billabong High International School, Andheri. We provide training in vocals as well as tabla, mouth organ, and mandolin. We aim to introduce unique qualities of sound through different mediums for our students. We teach them concepts relating to rhythm and pulse and how to effectively listen to music and their surroundings and develop a sense for music appreciation.
Our students have taken an instant liking to the musical program, and we see some stars in the making. We are incredibly proud of our choir that has performed on prestigious stages like the Raagmala at NCPA and Yatri festival at Prithvi Theatre to a packed audience.
The DEAR program is one of our favourites as it encourages one and all to Drop Everything And Read. Developed to create a liking for reading in young learners, it is one of our most successful initiatives. Reading out loud helps improve vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation. The joy of seeing happy bookworms remains unmatched. Of course, influx of information is no longer restricted to books and libraries. So, we encourage our students to read blogs, listen to podcasts and watch age-appropriate videos, too to connect them to different knowledge avenues.
