Enriched with the KKEL methodology, our teaching technique focuses on an individual, holistic and interdisciplinary learning approach. Based on Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory, our curriculum is specially devised keeping in mind that each individual’s learning and engaging ability with the world is unique, which is also known as ‘intelligence’. Our approach is also centered around Bloom’s Taxonomy, which encourages learners to move from lower order thinking to higher order thinking skills. Our interdisciplinary approach encourages the brain to seek and recognize patterns which help in the development of a creative brain. The curriculum is based on scientific brain-based principles of how the brain best learns i.e. Energy and Neuroscience.
We have set a benchmark in early childhood education and we strive to provide quality education in a safe, stress-free and supportive environment. Our aim is to change the perception and encourage learning as an exciting, ongoing and lifelong activity. Our methodology involves a holistic approach and we focus on social, emotional, lingual, cognitive and physical development of the child. Besides the above, we also allow our children to experience learning in a 360-degree manner which involves visual, read and write, auditory and kinesthetic stimulation in order to optimise the learning outcome.
KKEL facilitates experiential active learning which helps children develop a high level of competency involving knowledge-based learning as well as creative problem-solving. We empower parents and teachers in order to achieve and implement our goals effectively.
HOW KANGAROO KIDS CONNECTS
NEUROSCIENCE AND EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT
Brain research states that the ‘wiring’ in a child’s brain is positively affected in nurturing relationships and enriching environments. Our learning environment and comprehensive curriculum methodology are designed keeping this in mind.
THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
We provide and stimulate sensorimotor experiences and that help our children build and strengthen brain connections. Our learning environment includes setting up of various interest areas in the classroom. We also establish schedules and routines which helps the child to function in a structured manner.
OUR CURRICULUM METHODOLOGY
It is important to accommodate all individual learners, providing them with opportunities to optimise their inherent potential. At Kangaroo Kids, we have been inspired by earlier theorists and current brain science. See how earlier theorists that have influenced our methodology.
THE ROLE OF THE TEACHER
Our teachers receive constant in-house training to achieve an optimal balance between children’s self-initiated learning and adult guided and supported learning, to cater to the individual needs of children, we have an ideal teacher-child ratio. Preschool Year 1 – 1:8 | Preschool Year 2 – 1:8 | Preschool Year 3 – 1:8 | Preschool Year 4 – 1:8
PARENTS AS PARTNERS
A Kangaroo Kids parent always sees him/herself as a partner in the learning journey of his/her child. We work together to make learning experiences inside and outside the classroom effective, meaningful and joyful.
CULMINATING ACTIVITIES, SPECIAL EVENTS, AND BRAIN RESEARCH
Culminating activities and Special Events showcase and extend children’s learning. These events provide an opportunity for parent involvement and are a critical tool for creating episodic memory – memory created through sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touch, location, and emotions.
Special Days like ‘Grandparents Tea Party’ and ‘World Fest’ are conducted, to encourage experiential learning among our children.
Sports day encourages participation, where apart from physical development, children develop important life skills such as sharing, sympathy, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
Research validates that children imbibe best through direct learning experiences. This enables them to connect their learning to the real world. Field trips and guest speakers in the classrooms across all preschool levels cover topics that are always linked to their current classroom learning.
Our Annual Concerts are always eagerly awaited by our parents, teachers and students alike. Performing on stage builds an immense sense of self-confidence and also demonstrates the proof of understanding of all the concepts taught through the year.
